Nationwide Funds Group is the mutual fund complex of Nationwide Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: NFS), a leading provider of long-term savings and retirement products.
Nationwide has offered mutual funds since 1933, when it launched the Nationwide Fund, still in existence today with $1.3 billion in assets under management1. The mutual fund company has existed under different names over the years, including Nationwide Advisory Services, Villanova Capital and Gartmore Global Investments.
In 2007, Nationwide Funds Group made a strategic decision to move to a fully sub-advised fund platform. This structure allows the firm to keep its focus on serving the shareholder by selecting the best possible managers for each investment style. In addition, Nationwide Funds Group has partnered with leading asset allocation strategist Ibbottson Associates to develop pre-packaged fund-of-funds for investors who want the benefits of sophisticated investment management among a broad range of asset classes without the headaches involved in constantly rebalancing a portfolio.
Nationwide Funds Group is based in the Philadelphia area and offers a wide range of sub-advised mutual funds. As of September 30, 2007, Nationwide Funds Group managed more than $4.5 billion in assets.2
